The Doctor and her companions are set for a Norwegian nightmare in the trailer for episode 9
Written by Ed Hime (Skins) and directed by Jamie Childs (‘The Woman Who Fell to Earth’, ‘Demons of the Punjab’), the episode will see The Doctor, Ryan, Graham and Yaz materialise in the Scandinavian country, where they come across a boarded-up cottage and a girl named Hanne who is in need of their help.
The teaser sees our heroes arrive at “a cottage in Norway in winter with a chimney but no smoke”, with a terrified Hanne repeatedly saying, “it takes you away”. Probably not an ideal holiday location, then.
The guest cast in Doctor Who‘s take on Nordic Noir includes Kevin Eldon (as Ribbons), Ellie Wallwork (as Hanne), Christian Rubeck (as Erik) and Lisa Stokke (as Trine).
Here’s the official synopsis: “On the edge of a Norwegian fjord, in the present day, The Doctor, Ryan, Graham and Yaz discover a boarded-up cottage and a girl named Hanne in need of their help.
“What has happened here? What monster lurks in the woods around the cottage – and beyond?”
Doctor Who episode 9 ‘It Takes You Away’ airs on Sunday, December 2 on BBC One.
